In Spring 2009 I actually drove the Blue Ridge Parkway from Waynesville, NC to Sparta, NC ( I have been on the Parkway countless times as a passenger). My Dad was the passenger this time, and we enjoyed stopping several times on the overlooks along the way. The Mountain Laurel was particularly beautiful especially at Doughton Park.
