NGC 1365 **SOLD**
37" x 47"

NGC 1365 is a giant barred spiral galaxy about 200,000 light-years in diameter and 60 million light-years distant. The bright yellow nucleus likely houses a massive black hole. Astronomers believe the gravity field of NGC 1365's bar plays a crucial role in the galaxy's evolution, funneling gas and dust into the central star-forming maelstrom and ultimately feeding material into its massive black hole. Scientific information from NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day

This quilt was sold in 2003 and hangs at the office of Targacept, Inc. In Winston-Salem, NC
