A rainy June walk in the Arboretum; down green walled paths, over stepping stones through a water garden; hopping among the fish, frogs and toads; past sculptures and structures that evoke a sensual, spiritual freedom; to a huge wicker dome, entwined by red, flowering vines and lorded over by raucous birds; under your feet is a tiled floor depicting trees with interlaced limbs. This quilt toured the United States with Quilt National 99 ; was a “People Choice Winner” and is included in Best in Contemporary Art Quilts and The Big Book of Quilting and in a 2004 Calendar published by Quilt National. It was featured in the Feb. 2006 issue of “Splat” an NCSU student publication.
This quilt was sold in 2007 and now hangs at the Duke Raleigh Hospital
