This was the second church in a series about climate change. On a recent trip that my son and my husband made, I asked them to take photos of rural churches. So many were in disrepair and collapsing, I began to wonder whether the communities were suffering as well. These used to be centers for finding friendship, community, spirituality, and beauty.
Quote from Alexander Humboldt who is thought to be the first person to study climate change.
Years of drought and famine come and years of flood and famine come, and the climate is not changed with dance, libation or prayer.
The most dangerous worldview is the worldview of those who have not viewed the world. Probably written in 1802
This quote is stitched in the grass. “They will go on laboring under old authorities until their heaven collapses. Teach them to see evidence for themselves, and not fear it. To stand in the clear light of day unsheltered.” Barbara Kingsolver.
