Jan28: With great sadness Ann’s partnership with Lee Hansley Gallery has come to an end.  With the death of Lee Hansley, she has lost a friend, mentor and successful business partner.  His vast knowledge, his enthusiasm for her work and his untiring support will be painfully missed.

Sep:  Lee Hansley Gallery moved to Dock 1053,  East Whitaker Mill Road and Atlantic Avenue.  There is lots of parking.

October 6-8 Six pictures of Ann’s Quilts were featured at the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers at Mississippi College in Jackson, Mississippi, October 6-8, 2016. The quilts were part of an original musical composition called “Tappiseries.” The music was written and performed by Dr. Walter Saul of Fresno, California, as the images were shown. The pieces shown were as follows: Overreaching for the Stars, Yes, Money Really Does Grow on Trees, Susanna’s Family Tree, Climate Change, Pluto, and Moth Orchids.

Oct5-8: Scarlett Ohara Peony was at AQS DesMoines, IA.

July27-30: “Cliffs of the Comet” was at AQS Syracuse, NY.

August: Walter Saul performed Quiltings live on piano as his wife Daphne’s video of her sister Ann Harwell’s fabric art was displayed on the screen. The Sauls discussed Quiltings and the creation of the quilt art, music, and video.

June 21 – August 8: Thirteen of Ann’s pieces were part of an exhibit at Lee Hansley Gallery in Raleigh, NC. The Exhibit was entitled “Looking Skyward.” The pieces on the exhibit include: “Cliffs of the Comet,” “Overreaching for the Stars,” “Heaven on Earth,” “V838 Monocerotis,” “Barred Spiral Galaxy,” “Cary Lazy Daze,” and “Pitcher Plants of the Pocosin.”

June 2015: “Diamond: A Solar Eclipse Sun Quilt” received a Merit award at the Imperial Centre in Rocky Mount NC Juried Art Show.

June 2015: “Interacting Galaxies”was juried into the American Quilter’s Society Show in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

May1-30: “Eclipse Horizon” was part of the deLIGHTed Exhibit at Piedmont Craftsmen in Winston-Salem, NC.

October 2014: A full-length video featuring Ann’s quilts was presented at Biola University in La Mirada, California, for the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers. The music in the video was by her brother-in-law, Dr. Walter Saul.
